Mounting hdfs using nfs mount on Mac os x 10.9

Steps to mount hdfs on mac using nfs

Enable and start nfs service on mac using:

sudo nfsd enable

sudo nfsd start

Start hadoop portmap

sudo hadoop-daemon.sh start portmap

Start nfs

hadoop-daemon.sh start nfs3

Mount the hdfs

mount -t nfs -0 vers=3,proto=tcp,nolock localhost:/ /Users/kk/data/hdfs

    Karthik,

    Thanks for the post. I followed the steps on the Hortonworks website and getting a “Connection Refused” error when I try to mount.

    Cany you please help with this?

      Sorry Vedant,

      I do not have experience with Hortonworks hadoop.. I was working on apache hadoop 2.3.0… Did you try looking at the nfs logs on the master to see if there are any errors there?
